FAQs

Petits Trésors is an independent, family-run online gourmet food and specialty store, currently operating from the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. We stock international pantry ingredients, Australian-made products, gourmet hampers, vegan staples, eco-friendly kitchenware and hospitality supplies, and we deliver Australia-wide. If your question isn't answered below, contact us and we'll get back to you.

About Us

Who is Petits Trésors?

We're an independent, family-run gourmet online shop. We started in Williamstown, Melbourne, and are currently operating temporarily from the Mornington Peninsula. We sell a large range of specialty food and kitchen products to home cooks, chefs, cafés and accommodation businesses across Australia.

Where are you located?

We've moved from Williamstown and are temporarily operating from a storage facility in Rye, on the Mornington Peninsula. Because it's a storage facility rather than a shop, we don't have a shopfront or showroom you can visit at the moment. All orders are packed and shipped from Rye Australia-wide.

Do you offer click and collect?

Not at the moment. While we're temporarily operating from storage, click and collect isn't available and all online orders are delivered by Australia Post. We'll update this page if that changes.

Ordering and Payment

How do I place an order?

Add products to your cart and check out on our website. You'll receive an order confirmation by email, then a second email with tracking details once your order has been dispatched.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Union Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. All prices on our website are in Australian dollars and include GST.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible. If your order hasn't been packed yet, we'll do our best to change or cancel it.

Shipping and Delivery

Who delivers my order?

We use Australia Post for all deliveries. We've tried many couriers, and Australia Post is the one we trust to get orders to our customers reliably.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the weight and size of your order and your delivery address, so you'll always see the exact cost before you pay. Combining items into one order is the best way to get more value from your postage.

When will my order be dispatched?

Orders are usually dispatched within 2–3 business days. Delivery time after dispatch depends on your location and Australia Post's delivery times.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, we'll email you an Australia Post tracking number.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, to selected countries. International shipping costs are shown at checkout. Some food products can't be sent to certain countries because of import rules. If you're unsure, contact us before ordering.

Do you ship chilled or frozen products?

Some fresh, chilled and frozen products are only available in limited areas. Delivery options for these products are shown on the product page or at checkout.

What are the Christmas shipping cut-off dates?

We follow Australia Post's recommended Christmas posting dates and publish our cut-off dates on the website each year. Order early to be safe, especially for hampers.

Returns, Damaged or Missing Items

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us with your order number and clear photos of the damaged item(s) and all packaging, including the outer carton and shipping label.

Please keep the item and all packaging until your claim is resolved. In most cases, Australia Post will need to inspect the parcel, so we may ask you to take the complete package to your local Post Office for assessment. They will give you a reference number, which you'll need to send to us.

Once the assessment is complete, we'll be in touch to confirm the outcome. Each claim is assessed individually, and where it is approved we will generally offer a replacement or a refund.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

What if my order hasn't arrived?

Check your tracking link first. If your parcel appears to be delayed or lost, contact us and we'll follow it up with Australia Post for you.

Can I return an item?

For food safety reasons, we can't accept returns of food products unless they're faulty or damaged. For everything else, see our Refund Policy.

Huskee Cups

What are Huskee cups made from?

It depends on the range. We stock three:

  • HuskeeOriginal is made from coffee husk, the papery skin removed from coffee beans during milling. The husk would normally go to waste. It is combined with a durable, food-safe binder to make a sturdy cup with a ceramic-like feel.
  • HuskeeRenew is made from Tritan Renew 50, a clear, glass-like material that is 50% certified post-consumer recycled plastic. It does not contain coffee husk.
  • HuskeeSteel is made from 91% post-consumer recycled stainless steel. Most colours have a ceramic-lined interior; Brushed Steel does not.

All three ranges are BPA free.

Which Huskee cups contain coffee husk?

Only HuskeeOriginal. HuskeeRenew and HuskeeSteel are made from recycled materials but contain no coffee husk.

How do Huskee cups keep coffee hot?

HuskeeOriginal and HuskeeRenew have Huskee's ribbed fins, which help hold in heat and keep the outside comfortable to hold. HuskeeSteel doesn't have fins. It uses double-wall vacuum insulation instead, so it keeps drinks hot or cold for longer.

How do I clean my Huskee cup?

HuskeeOriginal and HuskeeRenew are dishwasher safe. HuskeeSteel should be hand washed with warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth. Abrasive cleaners, scourers and harsh chemicals can damage its finish.

What happens to Huskee cups at the end of their life?

All three ranges are part of HuskeeLoop, Huskee's recycling program. Old cups are collected and made into new products.

Which Huskee range should I choose?

HuskeeOriginal is the classic husk cup. HuskeeRenew is made with recycled material. HuskeeSteel is double-walled stainless steel. Browse the full range in our Huskee collection.

Which size do I need?

3oz (88ml) suits espresso, 6oz (177ml) piccolos and small cappuccinos, 8oz (236ml) flat whites and cappuccinos, 12oz (354ml) lattes and long blacks, and 16oz (473ml) large coffees and tea.

Are Huskee cups dishwasher and microwave safe?

HuskeeOriginal cups are dishwasher safe. They can go in the microwave, but Huskee doesn't recommend doing it regularly. HuskeeSteel should be hand-washed and must never go in the microwave.

Coffee

Which coffee brands do you stock?

We stock Melbourne specialty roasters including Seven Seeds and ST. ALi, along with other coffee brands. See our full range under Beverages.

How should I store coffee beans?

Keep beans in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, away from heat and moisture. Don't store them in the fridge. For the best flavour, use them within a few weeks of opening.

Which machines are ST. ALi capsules compatible with?

ST. ALi capsules are made for Nespresso® Original-line machines. They aren't compatible with Nespresso Vertuo or other capsule systems. Check the pack for the full compatibility list.

Oils, Vinegars, Spices and Dried Fruit

How should I store olive oil?

Store olive oil in a cool, dark cupboard away from the stove and direct sunlight. Keep the lid closed tightly, and use it within a few months of opening for the best flavour.

How should I store balsamic vinegar?

Balsamic vinegar keeps well at room temperature. Keep it sealed and away from heat.

How should I store spice blends?

Keep spices sealed in their original packaging or an airtight jar, in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Ground spices are at their best within about six months of opening.

How long does dried and freeze-dried fruit last?

Unopened, it lasts until the best-before date on the pack. Once opened, reseal it tightly and keep it dry. Freeze-dried fruit softens quickly if exposed to humidity.

Soy Wax Candles

How do I get the longest burn from my candle?

On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the jar. This stops the candle tunnelling. After that, burn it for no more than 2–3 hours at a time, and trim the wick to about 6mm before each use.

How do I burn my candle safely?

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from children, pets, draughts and anything flammable. Place it on a heat-resistant surface, and stop using it when about 1cm of wax remains, because the glass can overheat.

Can I reuse the jar?

Yes. Once the candle is finished and cool, clean out the remaining wax with hot soapy water. You can then reuse the jar for storage or as a small vase, or recycle it. Don't pour wax down the sink.

Six-Eyed Scorpion Chilli Oil

Which Six-Eyed Scorpion should I choose?

Start with Original (6/10 heat) if you're new to it. Choose Extra Spicy (8/10) if you like real heat, or Miso Sesame Crispy Garlic Oil (1/10) if you want the crunch without the chilli. The Variety Pack lets you try four flavours at once.

Do you sell larger jars and multipacks?

Yes. We stock 720ml XL jars plus 4 and 6 packs of both the 212ml and XL sizes. See the full Six-Eyed Scorpion range. Businesses can apply for trade pricing through our Wholesale Inquiry form.

Is Six-Eyed Scorpion vegan and gluten-free?

Yes. The whole range is vegan and made with gluten-free soy sauce in a gluten-free kitchen.

Does Six-Eyed Scorpion contain sesame or other allergens?

All Six-Eyed Scorpion products contain soy. Miso Sesame Crispy Garlic Oil contains sesame. Six-Eyed Scorpion's own labels and website list "may contain sesame" on several of its other products, so to be safe we show "may contain sesame" across the whole range. The brand is also changing over from its heritage labels to new-look labels, so always check the label on your jar, especially if you have an allergy.

How should I store chilli oil?

Six-Eyed Scorpion is shelf-stable, but the maker recommends keeping it in the fridge to keep it crunchy. Use a clean, dry spoon and check the best-before date on the bottom of the jar.
