Double Beef Bacon Burger with Maple Candied Bacon

Classic beef burger

Ingredients

  • 8 x Strips Bacon
  • ½ cup Frenchmaid Maple Syrup
  • 2 x White Onions
  • A splash of balsamic vinegar
  • 800g ground beef (or 4 premade patties)
  • Lettuce
  • Smoked cheese
  • Pickles
  • Burger buns of your choice
  • Frenchmaid USA Style Mayo
  • Frenchmaid American Mustard

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Line a tray with baking paper and place bacon strips flat.
  3. Brush generously with maple syrup and bake for 15–20 minutes, turning once, until crisp and caramelised.
  4. Thinly slice onions and cook over low heat in a pan with oil until golden and soft.
  5. Add balsamic vinegar to finish and cook another few minutes.
  6. Form the beef into 8 thin patties and cook on a hot grill or pan.
  7. Layer two patties per burger with smoked cheese melted between them.
  8. Top with caramelised onions, candied bacon, lettuce, and pickles.
  9. Generously spread Frenchmaid USA Style Mayo and Frenchmaid American Mustard on toasted buns.
  10. Assemble, serve with fries, and enjoy!
