Vegan Gluten-Free Alfredo Pasta with Peas & Broccoli (Creamy & Easy)
If you’re searching for a creamy vegan Alfredo pasta that’s completely gluten-free, this recipe delivers everything you love about classic Alfredo—without dairy or gluten. Made with simple pantry ingredients, this vegan Alfredo sauce with peas and broccoli comes together in just 30 minutes and is perfect for busy weeknights or relaxed weekend cooking.
Rich, comforting, and full of flavour, this plant-based Alfredo proves that vegan and gluten-free pasta dishes can be just as indulgent as traditional versions.
Why This Vegan Gluten-Free Alfredo Works
The secret to this recipe is starting with a proper gluten-free roux. Instead of butter and cream, this sauce begins with olive oil, garlic, and Caputo Fioreglut gluten-free flour. While all-purpose flour creates a slightly creamier sauce, this gluten-free version performs beautifully and delivers a smooth, velvety texture.
For creaminess, unsweetened almond milk (Milklab) adds body without overpowering the sauce. The cheesy, savoury depth comes from Damona Vegan Pecorino, supported by garlic powder, salt, and pepper for classic Alfredo flavour.
Best Gluten-Free Pasta for Vegan Alfredo Sauce
Not all gluten-free pasta is created equal, especially when paired with creamy sauces. My top recommendation is La Molisana Gluten-Free Penne Rigate. It holds its shape, doesn’t fall apart, and grips the Alfredo sauce perfectly.
La Molisana’s gluten-free fusilli or spaghetti also work exceptionally well, making this recipe versatile and easy to adapt to what you have on hand.
A 30-Minute Vegan Alfredo Pasta You’ll Make Again
This easy vegan Alfredo pasta recipe uses just 9 core ingredients and simple techniques. The addition of sweet green peas and tender broccoli adds freshness, colour, and texture, balancing the richness of the sauce.
For extra indulgence, finish with more vegan Pecorino or top with Damona Vegan Pepperoni for a bold, savoury twist.

How to Make Vegan Gluten-Free Alfredo Pasta
Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and cover to keep warm.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat slightly and whisk in gluten-free flour. Cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
Slowly add almond milk, ¼ cup at a time, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Cook for 2 minutes until thickened.
Transfer the sauce to a blender. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, vegan Pecorino, and ¼ cup pasta water. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding more pasta water if needed.
Return the sauce to the skillet and cook until gently bubbling. Reduce heat and simmer until thickened.
Adjust consistency as needed with almond milk (to thin) or a small amount of flour (to thicken).
Add cooked pasta, peas, and broccoli. Toss well and warm through for 1–2 minutes.
Serve immediately with extra vegan Pecorino and optional vegan pepperoni.
Storage & Reheating Tips
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop with a splash of almond milk to restore creaminess. Best enjoyed fresh.
