Originating in Naples, Penne Rigate No.20 is the ancestor of various versions distinguished by their name and size. Historically, this shape of pasta was offered as the opening dish at weddings - "ziti" means grooms - and is still fondly celebrated today. To bring out the extra flavour, it's recommended to accompany Penne Rigate No.20 with a simple bacon sauce and pecorino romano cheese.
